Open Studios is over! The pictures are coming down from the walls which is making us all a little bit sad, but we did have such a brilliant time. We have a bit of a taste for it now and there is talk of doing a Christmas Open Studio too so keep an eye on our Derby Road Facebook page to see what we are all up to.
I am packing up some of the pictures I sold and getting ready to deliver them to their new homes, here they are for the last time…
22 Derby Road is a hive of activity at the moment as myself and my studiomates Nicola, Ian and Neil prepare to open our studio to the world this weekend. Pictures are being framed ready to go up on the walls and books are still arriving – it’s all everso exciting and we are really hoping people will come along and have a look! We will be open from 11am – 6pm the 19th & 20th, and the 26th & 27th July, our address is: 22 Derby Road, Cambridge, CB1 7BU.
My brand new Grubbies scarves have just arrived and look gorgeous! Have a sneak peek below at the new scarves and head on over to Grubbies website to take advantage of the last couple of days of their summer sale.
I have been away from my computer for a little while so there is a lot to catch up on and where better to start than with Grubbies who have just brought out their new autumn/winter kerchiefs. I loved designing these scarves, they are definitely my kind of thing – autumn trees, fallen leaves, woodland creatures and their colours are bright red and yellow, good for cheering up dark winter days. Due to popular demand Grubbies have decided to sell the scarves in big sizes as well as little ones. An excellent idea if you ask me! And I’m not in the least biased…
These are the two kerchiefs you can get your hands on at the moment but in just a few days Grubbies are launching their spring/summer 2013 range complete with two new scarves from yours truly, so watch this space!
Yesterday I went to visit fantastic children’s wear company Grubbies at the Bubble children’s trade show in London. I was very excited to be getting my first glimpse of the new kerchiefs they asked me to design for next season. The last time I saw the designs was on my computer screen just before I hit send and now they are real! Here is a sneak peek:
Grubbies’ autumn/winter 2013 range features some rather special furry-on-the-inside dungerees as well as the two new kerchiefs Owl and Toadstools. I had a lot of fun designing these ones as they are based on woodland scenes (my favourite) with a lovely strong red and a mustard yellow as base colours.
Grubbies is a rather fantastic new children’s wear company whose very first range of clothing I am proud to say features some Marion drawing! The minds behind the dungerees asked me to design two kerchiefs for their very first season and I was most happy to oblige. We worked away on ideas based around a wild west theme and came up with “Coyote” and Wild Horses”.
I am terribly proud of them and have been enjoying wearing them far too much….
Grubbies are great, if you’d like to know a bit more about them or buy some scarves or tiny dungerees then check out their website where you can do all those things: www.grubbies.co.uk
