Cambridge Festival of Illustration

Tomorrow my studio pal Nicola Killen and I are going to be taking part in Cambridge’s Festival of Illustration. We will be holding a children’s workshop in Heffers children’s bookshop where we and the children will be drawing, colouring and collaging. The plan is to create a fantastic alphabet book to put up on display and considering there are 26 letters to take care of we will need lots of help! The workshop is being held between 11am and 1pm so do come along!

Histon Library visit

A few weeks ago I paid a visit to Histon Library to do a colouring workshop with some of the children from the village. I drew big line drawings of some of the characters from my books such as Bertie from Ready, Steady, Ghost! and Evie and Ping from Ping! The children coloured and collaged until we had some lovely work to decorate the library with! Here is the Bertie-ghost picture we made together:

Before….
…and after!

I particularly like the way you can see through Bertie to the footprints beyond! Nice work.

Mattishall Primary visit

These pictures were taken after a visit I made to Mattishall Primary school earlier this year. I wanted to put them up because I thought the children did such brilliant and individual work on the day and it’s even more special to see all their characters put together to make a great big display.

Here’s another one together with some additions of my own:

And one more…

Aren’t they great? What a creative bunch.

This was the visit that inspired Raimon my studio demon into being, here he is with his little umbrella:
